Our Commitment
The New York Information Security (NYIS) community is dedicated to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, or technical skill level.
Expected Behavior
- Be respectful and considerate in all interactions
- Engage in constructive, professional dialogue
- Support and uplift fellow community members
- Respect differing viewpoints and experiences
- Provide constructive feedback graciously
Unacceptable Behavior
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
- Offensive comments related to personal characteristics
- Unwanted physical contact or sexual attention
- Deliberate disruption of talks, workshops, or events
- Stalking, following, or photography/recording without consent
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behaviors
Scope
This code of conduct applies to all NYIS community spaces, including in-person meetups, online forums, social media channels, and any other venue where the community gathers.
Reporting
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it immediately by contacting us at info@nyis.us. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality. The organizing team will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the community.
Enforcement
Community organizers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing standards of acceptable behavior. They have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, contributions, or other interactions that violate this code of conduct.
